My first fishing experience was using a likely homemade cane pole in the creek across the road from my parents' property in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. My uncle or brother would put a worm on for me, and I'd wait for a tiny bass or bluegill to hop on. Not much has changed -- still catchin' small fish, but this time I've upgraded to something with a reel.
